3 Piece Riser ???

Is it really necessary put glass or phenolic along the back side of the riser for the limb pockets?  I already have phenolic glued into the riser in a big arc pattern.  I guess what I'm asking is can I mount the limbs directly to the wood or does it need re-enforcing?

I assume what you're asking is the face of the riser where the T/D limbs attach?  No you don't have to put a facing on it.  The strength comes  more from the proper install and gluing in of the threaded inserts.
