I'm thinking about making my first laminated glass bow.I was wondering how crucial is the core timber?
It's a bit tricky for me to get any laminations at the moment but I have a nice slab of spotted gum in my shed.Maybe I could make some core tapers from it? I also have a heap of bamboo left over from a previous build could I use that for core taper?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
First home brew lager in the fermenter bubbling away nicely at 22deg

Can you get your hands on some laminated bamboo flooring? I have heard of guys using that for tapers. I have seen other bowyers from Australia post here so maybe you will get some better sugestions..I sent you a PM with some info that may help you out. good luck with your build.
