What should I use to seal over my bamboo after I've dyed it? I was looking at Thunderbird sealer in 3rivers but it's kinda pricey. I'm dying it with Fiebings Alcohol dye. Thanks!

I use Tru-Oil on all my bows. It it cheap, easy and readily available at stores that carry gun case supplies.

Dumb question but will that cover up the color of the dye? Or is it clear?

I finished my last bamboo backed bow with tru-oil. I scraped the rind off sanded lightly with 320 and then dyed with a red mahogony stain. came out really well.

Tru-Oil is made by Birchwood Casey if that helps.
