Bow layout help

I have it down to one ring and started to lay it out. This is my question do I lay it out with the grain and straighten it later. It has a snake curve in the handle.

Lay it out with the grain...always!!! Once you get it to low brace you may find the crook at the handle will allow you more of a center shot bow. Don't worry about that until later.

Yes, you do. See my site. I also leave the handle full width and the nocks an inch wide in case I need to track the string better. After, I string the stave for the first time I can then shape each as I see fit. I can elaborate if you want. Jawge

Not to confuse things but you really only have to absolutely follow the grain where the bow bends.  In the handle, you have some leeway to adjust your layout.  Since it doesn't bend there, any grain runoffs will not matter.  It is also pretty tough to bend a thick (back-to-belly) and wide (side-to-side) handle.  You will want to narrow it before you try.  Fortunately. small bends in the handle and near handle amoutn to big tip deflection.  Heat it well.

Well I have it under control and starting to floor tiller. I want to make a round belly bow, do I just keep it round as I tiller? I have it bending about an inch on the floor. Had to rest my hands because of arthritis.

Yes, you keep it rounded as you tiller. You don't need a deep belly but that will work too with osage.
