I am attaching some pics of a Hickory board I obtained, I want to make a bamboo backed bow using the board to best advantage.

I assume that the back of my bow (where I adhere the bamboo) would be at the top of the end grain view.

I also assume that the best of this board is right down the centre. Would the remainder of the board be useful for "lesser bows"

Any help is welcome, as this is only my second bow.

there are 3 good bows in that board.  I would use the outer thirds as unbacked selfbows.  as long as the board is 3/4 thick and the grain runs straight on the sides of the board.
