I'm in the process of redoing a hoyt huntmaster..

..........VOODOO STYLE.....................

How fine is it neccessary to sand on the riser..

I've always went high gloss before but...

I want this to look like satin glass..

Mirror smooth but satin finish..

I've sanded down with 320 grit, and it's very smooth and the laminate lines are very sharp..

I can just see (when I look real close) some very small pores..  Should I not even wory about these minute pores??

Should I spray-sand-spray-sand, and be done with it..

Thanks, Toot

If it were me I would leave it at 320, and apply your sealer coat...that should fill in the pores and if not your next spray coat will..then a couple more finish coats and you are done.  best of luck

I only sand to 220 when spraying fullerplast catalyzed varnish.  The pores will still need to be filled by spraying and sanding no matter how fine you sand it.
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!
