Is This Normal?

These are the limbs of my T/D longbow. Are these cracks where the bezels or the antler knobs attach the limbs normal? I owned a 3 piece T/D before but I didn't keep it long enough to see if this was normal.

They happen on a few different bows, especially if you over tighten a bit. Morrisons are known for it, but Bob told me they aren't an issue.

I have seen them on a few bows, usually as a result of overtightening the limb bolts. generally nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on them if they start to spread.

Tony:
Are you using an impact wrench to tighten those bolts. Look at the marks the washers have made in the limb, that should not be! You only need to snug the bolts then add another 1/8 turn more.

Thanks all; I didn't think I was tightening them that much. The dark rings are more of a discoloration of the glass, not washer residue.
