I actually made this knife quite a few years ago and left it unfinished. I no longer engrave for personal reasons but it was sure awesome finishing this up.

It is an old saw blade, L6 steel. I added the elk antler scales today for more practice/refresher to match the engraving and made the sheath.

Happy hunting,

Todd, I like that knife!  The profile is nice and looks very functional too.  I love the antler scales.  Nice work!

I like that. What did you use for the engraving? Hammer and chisel, pneumatic tool, or rotary?

It's a high speed pneumatic rotary tool. The same one the dentist uses to carve on your teeth with.

Thanks for the comments....

Cool. Just curious as I do some hammer and chisel engraving. Thanks, although I am hearing that dentist drill sound in my head now just thinking about it   :scared:

Very nice hunter. I like the antler engraving. I'm not a engraver but signed up for a layout class in a couple weeks. If nothing else it will help with leather carving layout.
I would like to learn the hammer & chisel type engraving.
