W2 & Black Micarta Bowie,  11" long x 1-7/8" x 5/16+ thick blade,  16-1/4" overall.  Differentially heat treated, convex edge, sharp clip,  belt finish.  I had this blade ground for a while, but had dropped the plunge lines too far back for my liking, but decided to go ahead and finish up this week...  just had too much time in it not to finish.  Just put a quick & easy scotchbrite belt finish on it.

SEE NEW PICS LATER IN THREAD.

That looks like it would stay with you through thick and thin.

Looks great Matt!! If it comes out of from it's concealed carry sheath it is going to make an impression!! Hope for it's new owner it only comes out in friendly conditions but if it meets an unfriendly he will take notice.

I can't imagine how you could conceal that monster. It looks wicked to me, in a very pretty way.

they are pretty easy to carry concealed, with a little practice you can tote a big Bowie no problem.  I carried a 10" Bowie for a long time, need to make myself another.

That said,  I still like my 1911 on the hip.

akaboomer

Matt, will the concealed carry rig be made by you? If so would you mind showing us some pics of it and how it works? The idea intrigues me.

Chris

Steve Nuckels

Matt, I think you should make yourself another and one for me too!

thanks guys, dont have a pic of the sheath, but figure a standard Sam Brown type "stud" sheath, but on the back side there is a belt loop "swivel" kind of like you would see on a IWB pistol holster.

Matt

That's a really functional looking no nonsense knife you made

Curious about the handle shape and wonder if you have a pic of it from above to show the width and profile of it from the top?

If you do do you mind posting?

hi Ray,  I will post pics in a day or 2,  actually the purchaser wanted me to profile the handle for a small hand, so it looks different now.

Lamey

Ray,  here are some more handle pics,  The customer that purchased it wanted the handle recountoured for a smaller hand, I actually think it feels better now too-

sure thing Ray...  customer got it last week, did some cutting tests etc.  One of which was the aluminum can,  im kinda surprised it cut clean as I set it up with a fairly heavy convex suited more for heavy chopping etc...

GRINCH

Matt relly like the smaller handle, looks like a good fit.
