Band saw blade Rx

I have a 14" craftsman bandsaw that has been serving me well in woodworking for years. I've never even attempted to cut metal with it, however, I'm confident it will do fine. I only have wood cutting blades. What kind of blade(s) do I need for cutting knife metal? I've looked online and there's an infinate amount of configurations, types, etc. Any Rx?

I'd bet you'll find that that wood cutting band saw goes FAR too fast for cutting steel of any type.
It's not a matter of whether or not the saw can or cannot do the job, the blades are not designed to handle the speeds generated by a wood cutting bandsaw.
The excess speed will create too much heat and the temper will be quickly ruined on even a bi-metal blade.

I have been thinking about that myself. What if you used something like an adjustable speed control inline with the cord?

Or, step it down with a 3 pully set-up, like some knifegrinders?
