Assembled this caper the other day. My first full tang blade. Finished with 6 or 7 coats of CA.
The wood shrunk so the steel is proud on the joint. Not bad but enough to catch a fingernail. Any way to stop this from happening? Didn't check the MC but it's been drying for 2 years that I know of.

I have used wood hardener before and it works alright. Doesn't penetrate super deep though. I tend to buy wood that is already stabilized. I think Karl posted a link to some guys that do stabilizing...might be able to find it ith a forum search. Great looking knife!
'cuz deer huntin' ain't catch & release!

PV

Glad it worked for you Jake Now where's the pic's? Also get that bow over here and we'll get her fixed for you. Can't do much but I can get that done!

Thanks for the tips skullworks.Have some wood hardener here I used to foot shafts with. Penetrated the cedar pretty well. I'
ll give it a test on some hardwood.

Excellent little knife PV.
You guys ought to get in on the knife swap!!
Some damn fine blades swap hands and it's a riot!
If you don't know about it look for the thread that has been started.
I reckon so

PV

Thanks John but there's a few blemishes on this knife. As my friend Tippet says"It's not something you want other people to wear."

PV

Checked out your knives John. Beauty's

You wouldn't ever hear me complain. But I understand.  I make primitive stone knives and if it's not just right I don't even show it to anybody.  :bigsmyl:
