After seeing the new Blade magazine with another beautiful blade of Lin's in it, I found the article on silver inlaying by Joe Keeslar (my inspiration on flaring the finger groove).  There was a picture of his example knife as a paradox in rough & pretty at the same time...Brut de Forge!

I decided I needed to up grade a paracord version to be a little fancier.  So an old file went into the forge for the rough part of the blade and I added a little spalted oak with some black waves to match the rough black forged look.  Hey even a paracord guy needs to dress up every now and again  :)   Doc

Your right Jeff. These knives are so appealing with their contrasts. You did a good job on this one too. Thanks, Lin

You've got 'er surrounded now, Buddy!
That is one sweet knife.
Just beggin' to be on somebody's belt.
Maybe you could give us a heat treating lesson on old files?
I've got to do one for a guy.
Gimme some pointers?
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.
