I just bought a bear grizzly from a guy at work. It took over two years to finally get this bow. It is in perfect condition, just like the day it was made. -WOW- Now that I have it I need all your help in determing the age. The serial number is 6p7785 its 58" and 42# Any help would be great. The guy I got it from thinks it is a 1965 or 1966 it has the gold bear on it. The original string is just like new. Also any idea what the brace hieght should be? And where to measure it from, and what string should I put on it. Thanks

The 6 in the serial number says it is a 1966. Has a bubinga riser. I'd try about a 7.5" brace height. String to throat of grip. Get a nice flemish string, and you can fine tune the brace height if needed.

It is a 1966 and 7 1/2" brace height is a good starting point. Congrats.

Should be a fun bow.

The 66 and 67 Grizzlies were alike. Great lookers and shooters! Here is a 67 I had in the same poundage that found a new home this weekend.
