Deadhead weight

Just wondering if someone can tell me what the old Pearson Deadheads weigh?

I have a friend that might have access to 6 and they're the 5/16 diameter variety.  Also what do the 11/32's weigh?

Also what is the going rate for 6 in good condition?

All the Ben Pearson Deadheads are listed as 11/32.

The large ones weigh in at 140 gr. and the small are listed as 124 gr.

Interesting...I guess he has the small ones so I thought they were 5/16".

I have a half dozen coming my way.

Would you hunt with them or would you just add them to a collection?

Hunt with them, for sure!
The smaller Deadheads, depending on the year, aren't that scarce or collectable. However, they're a spectacularly good hunting head!

I actually like the bigguns for hunting too. Yeah, they're pretty spendy & getting hard to find, but they're one of the best 2-blade heads ever made.

It's definately worth the cost to see the look on a hunting buddy's face. I was deer hunting on a friend's lease last year & pulled a big Deadheaded arrow out of my bow quiver. Alex actually flinched at the size!

Hey Rob- That looks just like the place in Texas where you killed that man-killin' rabbit a couple years ago. Josh- Rob's right in my opinion. The Deadhead is one of the all-time great two bladed heads in my opinion. They will get incredibly sharp really quickly and they do a number on anything in their way. Shoot'em.  GY

If I get them in time and they fly out of my current set-up maybe they will help me make a turkey meet his demise.

I really wanted to hunt with them so I will probably sharpen 4 with my KME and keep two for broadhead collection.

Need to find some large ones.

They really were a great looking broadhead. Anyone know why they ended production and went with the Deadhead ? My guess is, the Deadhead looked more like the Bear Razorhead.

I just weighed one of mine, never sharpened, 130 grains on my Martin Scale.

I shot a nice size doe, last fall, at about  five yards from my stand, cane arrow with hardwood, ramin foreshaft, 15 feet up, pass-thru and stuck in a 3" dead limb on the ground. She went about 60 yds. Not much of a blood trail, but I did hear her expire.

My son followed the bloodtrail, right to her!

They do take a nice and Scary SHARP Edge! Alot of carbon, I suppose in the steel!

Michael, actually the Pearson Switchblade, was more like than Bear Razorhead. If I remember, there was some controversy about that.

I shot my largest Whitetail, 167", in '92 with a switchblade. The big difference is the lack of ferrule support, to the tip of the blade. But they take a Scary sharp Edge!
