well i found one!       :bigsmyl:        still trying to decide on a schafer or the bear A riser with limbs 56"55#@28       :banghead:        , i have seen pics of it, riser is inmactulate shape, the limbs have a few scratches...and also how would it handle my 28" draw any finger pinch?just edited!also found a 71 C riser. what were the differance between the 2 and also what are your thoughts of the 2 .. please i need help!!

$1200 is a fair price for an immaculate A riser with the correct limbs. The C riser is the target model and the longest riser. I would go with the A.

thanks danny ,done a search and seen them , i like the looks of the a riser better, the limbs are 56",im sure i can find a set longer.

well the serial number is A 1646  if the real bow doc can pm me i would like to ask him a question, thanks.

You won't need a set of limbs that make it any longer. I have three Bear "A" takedowns, two with #1 limbs, making a 56" bow, and one with #2 limbs. Unless you have a really long draw length -- like 30+ inches -- you will be fine. I draw 28.5 inches and the 56" bear takedowns are so smooth that they are in a class by themselves.
You will love that bow -- if you decide don't want it please PM me. I will take it.

ive wanted one for sometime ,i will have the money to spend on one,now i got to find a bear quiver ,some bear broadheads.and i should be set. i cant wait!!!!

Missagain- The A riser is a great bow and a good price. Bear made three length limbs and if you look around you can fine a set that will make it 56" (which you found) 58", or 60". Even though I prefer the longer B riser, the A is a classic and probably the more popular of the three riser models. Congratulations. BTW- 28" won't be a finger pinch problem in my experience.  Grant

Also, contact me about the quiver and broadheads. Not for sale but maybe to give- it is Christmas, LOL. GY

Missagain,
It sounds like you are going to take that bow. Congratulations! You have a real winner there, and I am sure you will love it. I may have some Bear green razorheads around here, too, that I could send your way.  I also might have some other Bear stuff from the 70's to get you up to speed. Let me know what you need. No cost -- just helping another archer. Betwwen Grant and me we can get you to a half dozen or more razorheads to get you authentically Bear.
Merry Christmas.
