How much rope is correct to have between the string and your hand upon release?  I made one...and I have about an inch and a half.  Surprisingly, I noticed that when I started using it...I did not collapse.  I thought back tension was one of my problems, but it actually feels weird to me to shoot in a way that causes me to collapse.  Wondering if it has anything to do witht the length of the rope?

An inch and a half is OK.  The whole idea of shooting with the FM on is TO NOT LET IT COLLAPSE YOU!!!!  When you release the bow string, RESIST THE STRAP.  If you allow the bow to pull your string elbow forward, "you ain't got it yet."  If your bones have lined up, the string arm will remain in the full draw position.

Yea...that is what is bothering me right now.  I am having some shooting problems...and I was figuring it had to do with back tension.  But I put the formaster on my 56lb. bow and set up the video camera on myself.  First shot, and my drawing arm did not move.  Did it over and over with the same result.  So I assume this means, I am getting good back tension.  So now I gotta figure out what it is that is messing up my shooting...and I am assuming it must be something with my bow arm.

Can you post a video?  Hard to say without seeing.
