How does one determine their draw length for a recurve, my draw length for a compound is 26, does the draw length for traditional bows differ much from a compound? Thanks for the help.

Your draw length will be where your drawing forearm is in in line with the arrow.

If you shoot the compound with a similar grip (say low) and is shot with fingers then the draw will be the same.

Bubba,

Nock an arrow on the string then put a spring type clothes pin on the arrow, and draw the bow, and then let it back down.  Now measure from the back of the point to the throat of the nock, and this is your draw length.

Mike that is only true if the back of the bow is 1 3/4" from the low point of the grip.

The AMO definition of draw length is just that and is what bows are measured at.  Some measure "true draw" which just doesn't add the 1 3/4" so a 28" AMO draw would be a 26 1/4 true draw.
