I am looking into switching to 5mm FMJ's. I am s hooting an Acadian Woods 3 pc. Recurve 60" 59@28 my draw is 28.5.I would like around 600-625 finished weight, so I will use 75gr. inserts with 160 or 175 up front. I have done the spine calculators with .300,.340 spine recommendation. Does anyone have a setup close to this I don't want to spend unnecessary money.

I shoot 60#@28 and 340 spine with a 250 grain point. My finished fmj arrows weigh about 650 grains. I spray paint my crowns, if bare fletched, or with a wrap you should be right around 620 grains.

With your draw length I'd say the 340s will be closer, but I'd go through Lancaster archery and get one of each spine to try and see what your bow likes.

I'd say the 340's and leave them full length. Or at least start with them long. The 300's will be much too stiff in my opinion. Great arrow

340's. Been there, done that.

I shoot a 29" arrow by the way. You can get the 300 to tune with 300 grain points, but it makes an arrow of about 690 grains. 400 spine with 200 up front tunes, but puts me at about 560 grains.

I believe I will get some .340's and try them. I know the .400's are too weak I have one of them anything above 125gr. shows weak, first 2 shots with bare shaft and 175gr. missed target 3rd shot, the nock touched the right side as it planed by the target.
My finished arrow will have to be at minimum 29.5"
