Just a shout out to a super TG sponsor, SBD! I recently bought a new Bear '59 Kodiak, and I think they hit a home-run with this bow. BUT, this bow with a SBD D10 string, (8 strand) and it's now a grand-slam! The bow literally, makes no noise. From a light weight arrow, say 8 gpp, to one at 10 gpp, quiet shooting! No hand shock, nothing! THANK YOU -  Silent, But Deadly, for an A+ product!    :shaka:

Had the same experience putting a 10 strand SBD on my old Selway Mag. Bow was smoother and more quiet with the D-10 than the previous couple of strings - which were top notch, just a different material.
Need to order one son for my Thunderstick.

I have had good luck with D-10 material on every bow I have used.Bows shoot soft and quiet.Mine were SBD strings as well.

Sirius, Thanks for the info.I have been playing around w string types on my 59 also. I have a 30" draw and often what is wonderful for a guy with a 28" draw will make noise for me. I settled on bcy-x for the quick stop/no stretch but depending on the arrow weight can get some mid limb noise or shake. Friday I made up a string from 8125G because it has a bit of stretch when it hits home. Just to see how it would be. It defiantly gave the bow a better feel but the string would just touch my arm guard. I don't like that. So back to the bcy-x. I upped my arrow weight from 10.5 to 11.5 gpi yesterday and man that really makes a better feeling shot, and much, much quieter bow. Just 1 gpi! I wanted to shoot a lighter arrow but this recipe is just hammering my target and is very quiet. My bow is a 55lb drawn to 30" so about 60lb@30". Black Eagle Renegade .300 with 350 gr up front. The string is 18 strands of bcy-x. I'll try to take a video of it.

Tedd, BCY-X is great too. My last few string purchases were that. I just had the notion to try a D10 again, and I couldn't be happier. I just ordered another one from SBD, for a Bear T/D that I just bought. I can't honestly tell if the stock D97 that came with the bow is well made or not. That's ok, because I know that the new one is!

Sirius, do you prefer the D10 over the BCYX?
Just curious.

Sirius Black

I don't know, they're both close. I think a person couldn't go wrong with either.
