This weekend the Maine Traditional Archers are holding their annual rendezvous, The Poke and Hope.  It is a great event with 5 3d courses, including a kids course. The Warrior course competition which is an opportunitty to show your shooting prowess and break some arrows on the hazards. Turbo Hog and red dot shoot off. Aerial. Competion depending on adjacent landowner permission. A lobster dinner on Saturday is also usually a part of the event.  Primitive camping on site is available.  It is a great time.  It takes place at the Durham Rod and Gun club, a hop and a skip from world famous Freport nad LL Beans.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Hey Maineac,  I went to their website to get more info and not much there.  Do they charge a fee?  Is there a list of times for events anywhere?

Warriors course qualifier is on Saturday morning and the shoot off for the winner is on Sunday morning.

Thanks Paul. The website does leave some things to be desired. I don't know the exact costs. I think it is either 10 or 15 a day for members (membership available at sign up) more for non-members. Warriors competition has a fee, aerials and turbo hog are free. Dollar an arrow for red dot shoot off. You can shoot as many arrows as you want to make the initial qualification.  All this info is based on my spotty 55 year old memory holder.
