I was at Bass Pro and they have some wools there for $75 for the jacket and $75 gor the pants, I see Cabela's have bibs for $79. Is that about as cheap of wools a guy can get new, they looked good, I don't recal if they had a windstoper inside of them. Its hard to find used ones in my size xxl, xxxl My wife tells my to go on a diet and then I can get down to a large to xl size.

Columbia Wool is a pretty good bargain.

I have the Columbia parka and bibs from Bass Pro Shops. I'm extremely pleased with them.

I usually get gold fairly quickly and the last two years I've hunted with the Columbia wool (plus the standard other layers) I remained warm and toasty. Nice and quiet too.

I wanted wool but also didn't want to fork out a boatload of cash so I went with the Columbia.

OzarkRamblr

I use the Columbia wool as well. I usually wear sweat shirts or fleece any way and with the wool on top of it I stay comfortable.

Best wool I ever had was some Woolrich a much larger person accidentally washed in hot water. It didn't need any membrane to cut the wind, and it had to rain really hard to get damp inside. Never felt like a sweat bucket either.

Try it and if it's too small p.m. me!  ;-)

Last year for my Colorado hunt I bought German army surplus pants from Cabelas for $9.95 a pair. They aren't camo but work well for my hunt( and my usual hunting in the S.E. US) and the price was right.   Pat

Don't be afraid of plaids and medium dark colors (darker colors especially for pants).  They ain't bad.   White based plaids really work well from a trees tand after leaves come down.

Just get a ASAT leafy suit.

Then wear it over whatever hunting clothes are  comfortable for the weather. The only reason I buy camo is if it has the pockets I want.

Dave2old

I'm with Pat B. Forget about camo and you can save a fortune, and the animals sure don't care. I wear dark plaid wool shirts and dark brown, green, or black pants and have never been busted if I was holding still in the shade. Lots of great plaid shirts at thrift stores, esp. in spring. Wool pants are harder to find and I too like the European surplus stuff, dirt cheap. Aside from saving money, it feels more "old timey" and good to ignore just another hunting industry that's convinced us we can't hunt without their products.

I'm gonna have to agree with Dave2old. Any thing will work. I had a 15 yrd shot the day I took this picture.

Jerry, that picture is a great example of what I always say...camoflauge is a concept, not a pattern.

I've bought several Pendleton wool shirts on e Bay for next to nothing.  I think the most expensive one was about $15.

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but the Army-Navy surplus stores out here have some nice wool cold-weather fatigues and sweaters for less than $20 each.  The surplus Swiss military ones are great.  If you really want them camoed, by the light grey/greenish ones and get yourself a brown sharpie for some quick ASAT-style camo.
