This one will be good next year, don't know if he will get nuff height this year, they got a while to grow. Where he's at,there is plenty to eat!His body size looks to be a youngin, any opinions?   :wavey:

Stay sharp, Kenny.

Looks like he has gotten some pretty good genes from his dad!  If he lives thru this season he'll be a dandy one next year.

already looks like a dandy with that spread.  Got a bit of a hanging belly already, I'll say 31/2 year old.

I was undecided between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2,but every time I think I have whitetails figured out.......

2 1/2 would be my guess by his build. He's going to be a dandy.

Hi Kenny,,,looks like a nice young buck to me. Hard to say from this pic but I would say your right. He's a real good 2 1/2 or a 3 1/2yr old,,I think his head still looks slender from this pic so I would lean towards him being a 2 1/2yr old,,as they get older they get more of a "blocky" look to their head. But what do I know!  Thanks for sharing the picture.

Kenny, Hard to tell from the pic....

My guess would be 3 1/2...Nose to eye looks to be pretty long, neck chest junction looks like it's getting to be one of an older deer....but like I said before, very hard to tell from the pix and it being summer.....

I think you might be surprised how long his tines end up

It'll be great to see more pix as he develops more in the month and a half.....

Guys,I change my mind every time I look at the pic.  2.5   3.5   2.5   3.5   Don't know,but Curt I hope you're right,I know July is a big growth month.

Don't know if its the same deer, but saw one couple nights ago 1/2 mile from there, lookin strait on,the inside of his rack was about 4" outside his ear on each side!! He was a 10 pt,but he didn't let me look long!!

Sorry for the poor pic quality, think theres a big patch of sun in the afternoon that screws up the lighting, may have to go reposition a bit!

It's hard to say. His belly looks thick but not droopy.

:biglaugh:
He does have a sway. I think if it were up to me I'd paint a bullseye on him, of course I mostly hunt state land up here and our bucks are lucky to get through a single season with a set of antlers.
Just one more step please!

I agree with Curt, Those tines might get alot bigger before he sheds. I would also say that he is 3 1/2.

I'm sure his daddy's genes are fine, but the genes for that nice wide rack came from his mammy! Like the genes for male-pattern baldness, antler characteristics are passed on by the dam, not the sire.

Another odd-bit of esoterica from the queen of clutter,
