Ok, I've got a "dummy phone".... I open it and say Hello!! Hey, it works for me

But my Little Bear, he has one of those new "smart phones"
Little Bear is buying a house!!!  :bigsmyl:
Nice ranch on 7 acres, in a town of about 400 folks. There are 2 pieces of land directly behind it.
The tax map shows they are both owned by a "common owner" with a third piece owned by the NYCDEP
(public land)

All 3 pieces are connected, and as far as I can tell, owned by the DEP. (???)

Here's my question... I heard that there's an app (?) for smart phones, that shows lot  lines, ownership, etc.
I think they call it "Hunt App" or something like that??  :dunno: Anyone ever heard of it???
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

That sounds familiar. I'd recommend OnX, it's super simple and shows everything really well. I was a bit adverse to it for a bit just because I'm cheap, but honestly for the $30 a year it is extremely useful.

Another app is HuntStand you can get all states property ownership for one price I think onx charges more if you are wanting more than one state . But I'm a old guy lol.

Chuck, go on DEPs website, you can find a map of all their huntable properties. The app is probably OnX.

Here in Gods Country(Indiana), I search for "Vigo County Auditor map"  and up pops the county map showing each and every piece of property and the landowners name. Tap on the property in question to get the info.

Basemap is cheaper and you get public/private for all 50 states.

achigan has the right idea. The website is Beacon and it covers half the states, plus it's free. Here is the link.

Gaia is another one. Only about $29 a year for all states. I had Gaia and OnX but I dropped Onx as I preferred the layout and look of Gaia. It was also cheaper if you wanted nationwide information.

Thanks for the help folks!!! :notworthy:

We only hunt a couple counties here in NY. The reservoirs that feed New York City are in the Catskill Mountains.
NYC has purchased surrounding land to protect the watershed that feeds them. All of the property in open for hunting with a free access/fishing permit.

I don't know which one he's gonna go with, but he's checking them out...

Thanks Again!!!  :archer: :campfire: :archer:
