I might have the chance to pick up a Bear Kodiak Magnum recurve 52" 46# @ 28 . I draw 29-30.

For those with experience with this bow, will there be a lot of finger pinch/stacking ?

THANK YOU !!

It will pinch at 29"s and really start to pinch at 30"s. It will start stacking at 29"s and again it will really begin to stack at 30, probably 5#s per inch once ya get close to 30"s. Shawn

I should also say that there is a big difference between 29 and 30"s. I think they are still fairly comfortable to shoot at 29"s but at 30"s they are pretty ornery. Shawn

Thanks again for reminding me how far behind the times I can sometimes be hehehe...I have been shooting one for 20+ years and love it,30" draw, bare fingers. It's all how it feels for you, try it out you might like it.Good Luck.

I have one and I have a 30 1/2" draw.  I can shoot it and like it for in a blind, but I wouldn't buy one for over a 29" draw.   Onery is putting it niceley, and very unstable over 29" I got mine as a gift from my brother.  FREE IS GOOD!

I have a similiar bow but at 45#.  The bracing height with the string that came with the bow is much more than my other bows...does anyone know what the factory bracing height should be?

Thanks,
Dino

Dinorocks, at least 8.5 inches is very common.

Regarding the bow itself, I have one and love it but yes it stacks, before 28 on mine.

I like both of mine at 7 3/4". Seem to be real quite and shoot extreamly well for me.As far as that draw length, it would all depend on you and your comfort with the bow,,or any bow for that matter. I've shot longer bows and felt terrible. I draw 28" and shoot my kmags well enough to be leathal while hunting. Best bet would to shoot it and see for yourslef and if you don't like it tell me about it    :bigsmyl:   JB

I have a 55lb one and it shoots but is hard on you stacking and hand shock looks good but I think there are better bows out there unless it is not too much money try and see mabe you will like it it should be a good ground blind bow and it is a Bear bow

I just bought a 2007 model that is 45# and my draw is 28" I shoot it and haven't noticed any finger pinch. Take some arrows and shoot it. I would buy it they are a fun bow to shoot and carry.

My personal opinion is that you will not have a problem drawing 28". Longer than that I believe you will shoot consistently better with a longer bow.

Oh Mike, I also put a little weight on the front, hand shock was stunning after about 20 shots with-out it. Other-wise I love my K-mag, and dred the day it gets replaced

I shot mine yesterday evening, a 50# '66 model, smooth as silk. Course I only draw about 27" on a good day!
