One of  "The Best" articles I have read of Bart was written by Mike Mitten and shared on Herd Bull productions.
I would highly recommend all to read it.....

Bart lived as we were meant to , and with a  respectful way of doing it....It all starts with an open mind fed firstly  as a naturalist . Of this a hunter should be ever learning of --- advocate of--and protector of....For without nature ..all of the circle .....we have nothing......

That article is indeed well worth the time it takes to read.  Some of it I had seen before, but much of it was new.  A life well lived.

Bart was my shooting buddy at an indoor archery range in Bozeman, MT in the late 70's when he was winding up his college thesis on grizzly bear behavior. He was specifically determined to see if there was a consistent distance that a human could approach before a grizzly bear would attack. He told me that he would like to try his theory out in the Yellowstone or Alaska backcountry someday. I remember that didn't appeal to me one bit at the time and told him so. I was not surprised to hear of his demise years later.

I remember that Bart was an amazingly strong young man shooting a very heavy bow. Nice guy too. Rest in peace Bart.
