It seems a lifetime ago I used to be on this site daily, life got in the way and I drifted away from most things I enjoyed.  But as life has a way of doing, I have circled back and may reopen old interests.
To make a long story short, my brother has had some health issues and is currently off work.  He is  currently building a couple board bows to kill some time but what he really desires is to build an Osage selfbow.  We have access to the trees but it will be a while before those would be ready to work. With all the knowledge here on this site, can anyone point me to where we could pick up a few staves?  They could be in various stages of being worked or not at all, anything to get a jumpstart on this process.  We are located in SE Ohio if that makes any difference.

Thanks!
Mike

Wish I could help Mike, as I'd say you live pretty close to me.  But I'm not a selfbow guy(yet).

All the Osage I know of is still alive in the woods.  And most of it looks more like a twisted up bush than a tree.

I can show you miles of Osage fence rows, but the work involved to go from there to working but I was beyond my abilities and patience.

With the right equipment  You can go from tree to bow in a couple months. If you steam it probably less than a month!  However, I probably have a stave or 2 lying around.  Where are you from?
