Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but I kind of think these recycled whiskey bottle display canisters have a second purpose.  I happened to have a couple of pieces of walnut board stock and a daughter with an arm skinny enough to reach down in and get a screw started.

Cheers (literally)

that's a great idea!  some nice Laugavoulin green would blend in well - i guess boxes would work as well as tubes.

What a wonderful idea!  I just regret all those empty beverage tubes that have gone out over the years in my trash that I could have been repurposing like you have done....

For a minute there I thought Ron had called a late spring scouting rendezvous to Shrewhaven!

Well a gathering at camp now would be kind of fun.  Truth be told camp plans have been flying around at a fever pitch the last four days. Camp will be special this year.  It's looking like the crew will be in full force and there might be a special surprise in store too.  The arrows and my work bench are on one end of the mane cave and this is the other end....

Well, it looks like the camp grocery list has been taken care of.

Looks like Shrewhaven could use a full-time "gratis" bartender...where do I apply?

Richard, yes, applications are being accepted.  Along with your application please send a bottle of:
Weller 12
Elmer T Lee
Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary
Blantons Gold

This will help will help process your application quickly.  Some might say why not include A bottle of Pappy Van Winkle on the above list—we of course want to appear reasonable.😉

What's missing is a nice bottle of Macallan aged in old sherry casks.

I'm not a big scotch fan, thus only the one nice
Bottle of Balvenie.  My liquor store consultant told me that if I was going to put one good scotch on the shelf, that one would be appreciated by all scotch drinkers.     I still remember being at 'southern Michigan deer camp' at a colleagues parents house.  His brother had just got back from a trip to Scotland and brought back a fancy $250 bottle of scotch.  I'm glad I had the smarts to just put a sip in the glass because it would have been a travesty to choke down any more.  Tasted like whiskey filtered through dirty moss.  I know all scotch is not peaty but at least some of them make a good wide arrow holder!!!😉

Never knew there was such a thing Ray.
But this is coming from one of the great unwashed masses. On one of my elk hunts, another hunter offered me a drink from a mason jar.  Pretty smooth, I guess. Don't have much experience with the hard stuff.

Oh, Ray, you have so far to go in your journey through the world of great drink. Scotch is definitely an acquired taste. I, myself, had to try it 3 times before I liked it. For a long time I felt toward bourbon the way you do Scotch, but my close buddy is a bourbon connoisseur. He always offers me a drink, and now I have come to strongly like both drinks. I don't know if it means I have good taste or a drinking problem. Either way, your array of bottles is nice.

Why am I starting to feel like Lori Loughlin?  Well, maybe not so much....I may be easy and I am cheap.  I'm sure she's neither.  Heck, I'd just get fired the first week anyway... the mailman delivers the "good stuff" round these parts!

Sam, I'm going to trust you on the acquired taste thing, but man, we're talking a custom bow or three to build a similar collection.  I like nice bows too!!😉
