Bob Lee bows?

Been looking at a Bob Lee, something with the Stabi-lock.

just wondering how everyone else seems to like them- the search function hasn't been kind to me, just brings up threads from back in '11.

i own 2 bob lee bows a signature and a hunter from 1996 and 2006 both have performed great smooth and no stacking

I am quite fond of Bob Lees. I have owned many. They do everything well and nothing wrong. Stock grip is phenomenal and can be customized on a custom order. I shot my highest 3D score ever 385/400 with one of the 3pc LBs a handful of years ago, still kick myself to this day for selling that one! I can't seem to hold onto them but not cause they arent great bows. My last one was a Heavyweight w/ Stabilock and boy was that a slick takedown system! That bow was completely dead in the hand, quiet and quick. Id gladly own another.

Bob Lee's are the best of the best, especially with the stabi-lock system.

I have a bob lee signature recurve 60" with bolt system I purchased used and it is my favorite bow. JJ made me a new string and it is so nice to have a take down that I can pack in my luggage.
I would highly recommend bob lee bows and their customer service is tops.

I have a Bob Lee Blackhawk recurve and it's my favorite. I like it so much I order another set of limbs.

You won't regret buying a Bob Lee.

I'm thinking about getting one. Back when I bought my first "real" bow, the choice was between a Bighorn and a Bob Lee. Someone suggested I get the Bighorn, so I did. Then they wen out of business. No new limbs for me! Really kinda wish I'd gotten the Bob Lee.

I checked out his bows because of this thread and dang is that ever a nice takedown system and beautiful bows to boot. Now I just need the patch to pick back up so I can afford one.

There good bows, but I lost interest in them when they quit building one piece bows. If you are OK with take downs you're good to go.

I tried one of their one-piece longbows one time. It was a mediocre performer. I've had more Bob Lee takedowns in my life than any other bow I've had. Most of them I either still have or have given away over the years to family or friends. They are all top notch. I suspect that the one-piece bow I had wasn't an exception, and rather than try and figure out how to make their one-piece longbows top-notch performers, that it was better to stick with what they already knew how to do well. I've never had one of their one-piece recurves; that could be different.

I'm most interest in the stabi-lock honestly, I don't mind a heavier mass weight bow.

My current favorite hunting bow is a Bob Lee Ultimate with stabi-lock. The stabi-lock works fine once you figure out the trick for getting it apart. Frankly, I take it apart so rarely that it doesn't make any difference to me whether it has stabi-lock or not. But I also like the extra weight and feel like it improves my accuracy.

I did have one of their higher end one piece recurves and it was a very good performer. I think it is just easier to make three piece bows so that is what they do now.

Even though I own a few different bows, RER and a bunch of Bear bows, my 2002 Bob Lee Classic Takedown is my favorite. I like the weight, the grip, and how smooth it pulls.

I have a classic I bought 2nd hand it is the smoothest quietest bow I own. And fits my hand like a glove.

I have four Bob Lee takedowns. All are bolt system. In my opinion, they are among the very best available. I have not tried the stabil lock system. I really have no need to but I am sure it is really a quality design.

I shot a Bob Lee and it is a very nice shooting bow. I wouldn't think you could go wrong with any of his models. Bob Lee's bows have been around for a very long time and they are still being made, that right there says it all.
