My middle daughter decided to take Ag Mechanics this year. I was pretty stoked when she told me. She can already weld better than I ever could.  :biglaugh:
Part of this class is they all either buddy up or independently make a project that  gets raffled off at our local harvest festival in the fall.
Well she came to me yesterday and told me that she approached her teacher about building a bow as her project. Her teacher was pretty ecstatic about it and told her to definitely go for it! (He's a pretty cool dude!) it's something no one has ever done in our schools history and would be a unique project that should earn her high marks in the awards.

Needless to say,, IM EXCITED!!!!!!
Gonna be a little while before she actually starts but I will post progress pics as she goes through each step..

Yes sir, they can build anything they want But most of what they do is centered around the agriculture field. They make anything from picnic tables, deer feeders, bbq pits, to gooseneck trailers. I've even seen bird houses.
Some of the work these kids do is Amazing!!

Thats really great. Nice they encourage the kids creativity. All we had was woodshop or home ec. Those were the Dark ages.

Thats awesome. Need more stuff like this for the youngsters to learn to be creative and work with tools instead of having their faces glued to a screen all the time. Looking forward to seeing pics of her build.
...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

Randy my man, if my daughter asked me to help her build a bow, I'd be doing backward flips...
