handle popping off?

Has anyone had any problems with there handle popping off when using titebond 3?

The few times I've had trouble with handles popping off, the limbs were working too much into the fades/handle area.  After regluing the handles, adjusting the tiller solved the problem.

If your limbs run right into the handl. without rising up much you'll have that problem when adding a handle. Basicaly the fade needs to strat in the limb but you can add handle material after that. Like chris said the fade area mus be working a little. One fix can be to pin it.

I guess Ill hope for the best. I screwed up this elm (would be bow) by measureing once then cutting. After cutting, I realized I was off several inches. I have nothing else to do so Im finally giving it a shot.

You can make a riser with 3 or 4 thin lams of graduting lengths and glue them on at the handle area. They will have a little more give than a solid riser. You may also be able to add a lam to the back of the handle area as a stiffener. This can also be rounded to fill out the back of the handle for a more comfortable grip.
  Another option is to use a flexable handle riser like shoe leather or hard rubber that will bend with the bow.     Pat

I have used sinew, wrapped around the handle then cover with leather to hold on a couple of risers the kept popping off.  Build up the sinew, impregnate it with super glue, use a file to the shape the way you want, then wrap with leather.  I use super glue rather then hide glue to prevent the effects moisture has on sinew and hide glue.

you can glue wood on both sides of the handle use a thin piece on the back that may bend near the ends but the piece on the belly will make it thick enough not to bend
