I posted some images of force draw curves for bows I've built or worked on and people have been asking for a copy so you can download version .1 here

Ben............

I was charting the force draw curve on a BBI longbow 75# @ 28 and the bow exploded at full draw. I was told that I should have never drawn a wood bow mechanically and held it at full draw. I disagree, better that it broke before someone was shooting it and was seriously hurt.

What would be your thinking on this subject???

James I don't work with all wood bows yet so I can't give you an answer but I'd guess it had other issues otherwise you couldn't hold at full draw without fear of the bow breaking.

That bow was gonna give, but from my understanding unless it's glass or sinew/wood/horn don't hold it for more than a few seconds.  Others who know more than me will probably correct me.
