Help! Please! I am new to Trad Gang and relatively new to the bow building craft. About 10 years ago I built a R/D that was supposed to come in at 50# to 55# but came in at 67#, therefore, I was reluctant to build another. Since I still have the oven and my Son and his Buddy consider me to be and "expert" (the ignorance of youth) we are building three bows together. We have elected to use Bingham Project hoping for more accurate weights. My Son and I are building 62" hybrids and his Buddy a 58" recurve.  I hope for 50# and Son and Buddy want 60# (Ah the advantages of youth). First question: What kind of performance can be expected from Bingham's limb design? Specifiably the hybrids.  Should I try another limb design? Second question: For the recurve, what are the advantages and disadvantages of 1 3/4" vs 2" limbs? What should his Buddy try for his first bow?

I have a bow build off of Binghams 62" hybrid form.  Nice solid bow - quiet and fast enough.  You may also consider getting KennyM design off here for free.  Lots of bows made here using that design.  Do a search here and you should be able to find it.  Can't help you with the recurve question - haven't tried building one of those  - yet.

I built a 60'' recurve off their plans and is a very good shooter, very accurate.
