Right you are Eric,  been there, done that. Old habits are hard to break.
Building Bows Is Only Half The Fun, The Other Half Is Passing That Knowledge On!

This post reminds me of how I feel when I drive thru Osage county Kansas....which isn't very often.  :notworthy:

" I would say that making bows has moved up the chart on hunting and shooting."

Dang this forum!  Bow #1 is in the works and when I'm not working on it, I'm thinking about bow number 2.  My next order of smooth-on will definitely be a gallon and not a pint.

We have another month of bow season and muzzleloader opens on Monday.  I have the day off for the start of the season but can't decide if I want to hunt or stay in the basement.

If you're gonna be back in Jasper for Christmas, I think we ought to take a trip up to Florence and raid the woodpile.  I've got a nice hickory backed ERC kit here I could use help on anyway.  We can meet up here and then gang up on him, if he's amenable.

Eric, hunt now, build over the winter.

I sometimes build in the summer too.

My other vice than bow building is boat building ... which causes alot of confusion because they sound nearly the same.

I learned a few years ago to build boats (and bows) in the winter, and bows in the summer, after spending all summer building a boat only to sail twice before fall hit! That was a downer.
