I have a Bear Alaskan recurve, dual shelf bow, I have been doing some searching on the bow in general, and it looks like some of them are orange. Well it looks like this one has been painted brown over orange. Is there a way to strip the bow that won't hurt the bow in general? I have rubbed with goo gone, and it would take along long time. It might be fun to try and refinish the bow. Is there something locally that will remove the paint without hurting the bow?
Ask me about CTO.

Chester,

I've had good luck with finger nail polish remover.  Good luck on your project, it sounds like a cool bow.

Paint thinner maybe...If finger nail polish works then acetone would work...Denatured alcohol might work...it wouldn't be as "Hot" as acetone.  Denatured will take off dried latex paint if that helps ya out any..good luck with it though I'de like to see it when you get it stripped off.
