I enjoy making bows and have outfitted most of my friends. I made this ref/def longbow for a friend. It's simple but came out nice. 64"40#@28", beech and walnut riser with walnut and boo limbs. The skins are prairie rattlers.

Very nice. Just good clean lines. Pic together strung?

I really like the beech. Not often you see that in bows but I love it. Simple, classic, clean.

I try to use common but strong woods in my bows. The best part is that I can usually get my domestic woods for free. Having a good friend that makes doors for a living has its advantages. Beech takes stain well and is easy to work with similar to maple.

A trully nice bow! I love simple lines and a graceful profile! Beautiful.  :clapper:

There's no fiberglass in that bow?

M.Kerry Bird

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it has fiberglass limbs, black on the back and clear on the belly. The black makes the skins look better.
