3pcs recurve need a little help

I want to make a 3pcs recurve   17'riser shooting for 60" over all want to come up with 60#
Here is what I've got
043 glass
   osage limbcore
030 tuffcore
   osage limbcore
043 glass
 
What do you think the osage core should be

I think you should use the osage for veneers and use A-boo for core. And if you go with an .001 taper you can leave the tuffcore out. It will depend on your pad angle and limb profile to get a thickness for you stack.

I agree with Crooked Stick action boo, maple, walnut red elm are some other core choices and in my experience (not alot only a couple years) lighter core wood is better. The core tuff wont add much performance, maybe a bit of stability, I use uniweft alot. If the design is one you made up you will be hit and miss on the wieght on the first try. May I suggest shooting for a 62" or 64" you can always shorten then to bring wieght up. The longer the working limb the smooter drawing the bow will be. In my design my lam stack would be around .375

This would get me pretty close but design is gonna vary wieght.

Woops thought it was a long bow you were after guess I need to read a bit better before I spew useless Info. definately would go with lighter core wood though.
