Scott are you controlling the feed rate by hand. I have a small simple one, the feed rate being constant is my biggest problem.
Looks good.

Ron so far just testing with some scrap pine and oak i havent seen an issue with feeding by hand. But i did make my infeed and outfeed table long enough that i can push it through without having to catch it on the other side.I go slow, take light passes, and dont stop feeding until the product is completly out the other side. Also my table is very slick(laminated flooring)which i think helps. So for its worked great.

Really cool project.  I've been watching for deal on one, but may give building one a go. Some instability at work so I might have a whole bunch of time on my hands soon.
