Nearly done with my first TD Recurve. According to what I have read and the build along I am using the glass over my hard maple lams needs to be sanded with 120 grit to take off a protective film.

I have done this. But it looks like to me I should continue down to a finer grit, say 500 grit before I finish out with the true oil I am planning on using. Am I correct on this?

I use 320 on mine.  120 seems a bit coarse to me.  If you did use 120, I would say yes you'll want to go finer before finishing.

Yeah.. at least go to 240... that is what I do, then it looks good after clear coat.

I will do a quick rub down with a soft sand pad.. probably 320 or so.. it just says extra fine.
God gave you hands, use them

Thanks. It looked too coarse to me also. Just wasn't sure. Hope to hunt with it Wed. or Thur.
Thanks, again.
