Hazelnut arrows

have a lot of Beaked Hazelnut that grows in the forests near me. Beacuse the forests are so dense it grows really strait. Is is suitable for making arrows? If not does anyone have recomendations from what to make arrows form that grows here in northern Alberta. I'm new to Canada so still learing whats useful.

I've made arrows from hazlenut. Cut them may be 1/2 inch or so. Straighten them by hand. Wrap some duct tape around a bundle of 6 or so. Undue the bundles and hand straighten them every few days. Around a 2 weeks or so the shafts will really begin to register the changes as you straighten. When they snap back after a slight bending they are rrady to be arrows. There is more on my site. Jawge
