Here is one I've had in mind for a while. A couple years ago Mark Zalesky had a couple antique Samuel Bell knives at a knife show in San Antonio. I was really intrigued by them and have been playing around with the idea ever since. Well recently a buddy gave me some pieces of MOP and ivory and that started the ball rolling but it's probably still been 8 months getting done.

Forged from 1/2" round W2, notice that cute little hamon, integral with a couple spacers to separate the Mother of Pearl. 6"oal but more work than some big knives...  ;)  Just a fun different little piece.

Thanks for looking

Very nice Doug.

You will enjoy seeing the Sam Bell knives at the museum. The museum will stay open after the show till 8:00 after the show on Saturday evening to allow show goers to be there. Bring your camera.

Different but real nice looking. The whole knife just works together.

Beautiful little knife Doug!  I like the MOP every so often, the Spanish notch is a nice detail!

Gave you some MOP and ivory?  That is indeed a buddy.  That one is awesome.  A great little gentleman's Sunday go to meeting knife.

I am also really intrigued by those old knives. This is a fine one, Doug. Out of curiosity, how did you attach the MOP? I'm liking how you chose to file that notch-subtle  :) .
