This is a 9" hunter I finshed yesterday, to give to a neighbor, 4 1/4" blade steel is 5160, S.S. fitting and black spacer.
I've been out of business for about 6 mo. moved to East Tx. but I"m up and running for the most part. Sorry about the bad picture, (Iphone)The handle looks square but its not.

Let me know what you think good or bad

I know all about that being shut down to move your shop. I'm still not fully done

Good luck in Austin. Hope it's a good move for you

Very pretty knife, Dana, even with the crappy photo.

Thanks Kevin and Jim, it is a good knife, but I would like to get out of the box, seams I'm missing something on my designs, handles or flow, compaired to the other guys on here.
thanks again

Good looking knife. Nice and clean lines and finish. To break your rut, try copying a knife of a maker you admire and push your limits. Maybe build a frame handled bowie, for example. I recently got great feedback on here and the ABS forum on a knife design. Post a drawing of something to push your limits and incorporate the feedback from others. As makers we want to be pleased by our work but the feedback from others can give you insight. I recently built several full tang belt fininshed blades and went to an area gun and knife show. The feedback was very interesting as was the score sheet I kept of which knives got picked up and admired the most. I see that you have moved and aren't that far from Canton, where mastersmith Tommy Gann lives. I have taken some lessones with him and always come away very inspired.

Dana i see nothing wrong with that knife! I would be proud to own it. I like the design of it,and the way the finger guard comes off the handle. And no doubt that 5160 will cut like heck! Good work.
