I sorta kinda thought I'd make this knife for myself, since I haven't done so in over four years now.
I've had this full stag tine laying in a drawer for nearly 10 years and figured I'd put 'er to use.
This is a take-down stag hunter.
W1 with a nice hamon.
I wanted to make it 'nice', but rather, almost unfinished? Not sure if that's the right word.
But, regardless, the fittings are machine finished. And I know that might not seem all that difficult at first glance, but try doing that on multi-faceted surfaces and pull it off so it looks good!
The only part of the stag I touched was where the figure stood a little proud of the butt cap and guard.
The knife is assembled inside by what I call my "bridge and bolt" assembly.
Just friggin' rock solid.
Then the butt cap is screwed to the "bridge and bolt". (Pinned to the handle - of course.)
The spine is crested.
Unetched blade.
Since I thought I might keep this one for myself - I reverse-stamped the blade.
Enjoy the day.

When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

One of these days I have to get you to make me a damascus hunter with a stag handle, that stag is beautiful.

That's really nice Karl, the stag had the right curve, and the blade fits the handle great. I would proud to carry it
