Been wanting to make a small kiln for a while but haven't sprung for the materials.  I realized that I do have some earthwool 1000 degree pipe insulation.  I am wondering if that would be sufficient, as I see most use something suitable for 1500 degree?

Troy, are you asking about making a forge?
I'm just over in Watseka if you need some help.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Yes, after sending my message I realized I meant forge for simple annealing.

The 1000 degree won't work.
Why not just build a forge for performing all processes?

Well guess I'll have to do just that.  Was just curious about the stuff I already had.
Thanks
