buying 1095 at welding shops

went to the local welding shop and asked if they had any cra 1095 metal. they didn't know what i was talking about. what do i need to know to check with some other welding shops.  thank you jackie

Doubt if a welding shop would have any.  They usually just stock low carbon structural steel from what I've seen.
