Guys, I havent yet attempted a knive with pins.  Can you point me in the right direction as to how to best attach the scales and pin it.  Here is what I am thinking.  (These are on a couple of knife blanks which have predrilled holes)

1. Shape the fronts of the handles
2. Glue on one side (Devcon 5 min epoxy?). Let dry
3.  Drill through from the blank through the side I just glued on
4.  Glue on the other side, let dry
5.  Drill throught he holes from the 1st side all the way through
6.  Attach the pins with epoxy, let dry
7.  Finish that baby

Is that how you guys do it...or do you soften  the tang so you can drill through the whole thing with both scales attached.

Thanks!!!!

This is My way probably not the right way!!!
Center punch the blank then drill holes
Mark scales and cut close to corect size and shape
Clamp one side to blank drill a holes through blank.
I put practice pins in to keep it positioned correctly as I go along
drive the pins flush to the blank clamp other side on pull one pin completly out drill that hole through first side and blank going through the 2nd side put that pin back in and repeat until all holes are done
then with practice pins in sand the scales to fit the blank
pull pins remove blank pin scales together sand and finish front end this make them even at front
then glue up put in pins and peen them if nessecerary let glue dry and finish shaping and sanding scales to desired level.
Just my way there are other ways out there and hopefully someone else will chime in.
Good luck and welcome knife makin!
oops You already have blanks drilled !
Look up!It's ALL above us.
