Some of you may remember my posts on the Great Smokey Mountain Blade Symposium from this past spring.  I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon learning how to forge the Keeslar Brut de Forge blade.

Well the master's work from that day arrived at my clinic yesterday complete with silver wire inlay and one of Joe's sheaths too!  It is such an inspiration to just hold this knife.  I think ya'll can see how my blade smithing style changed that day...for the better  :)

As I said before, it's along road for a little grasshopper...But Ohhh so much fun to travel!

Big Thanks to Joe Keeslar for his generous sharing of talent  :notworthy:  grasshopper

Thats a nice knife and sheath, a bit of elegance and a bit of grittiness...ying and yang, congrats.

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

As I said above, my style has certainly changed  :)   Just thought I'd throw in a picture of my Brut de Forge "knock off" from this years St Judes Auction...grasshopper

really nice Jeff.  I tell you, Joe Keeslar is as good as anyone at getting fiddelback maple to look stunning..even without the wire inlay that would be a pretty handle.

I like your work very much, Jeff!
