A signature you don't find very often.

I found it in Abner Shepherdson's copy of Ford's "Archery:its theory and practice." edited by Butt, 1887.

I don't recall having McMeen's signature, but I do have a complete set of his publication "Archery".  Clem Parker purchased the set from Mary Elmer [Dr. Elmer's widow] in May of 1952 and noted that there were only 3 known complete sets.  Fred Lake in his "A Bibliography on Archery" only notes one complete set in private hands.

Didn't McMeen publish his magazine on his own nickle and didn't charge for it?  Also, I believe that he underwrote [financially] the publication of Dr. Elmer's "American Archery".

He was quite an individual.  You are fortunate to have his signature.

From what McMeen wrote, It sounded like the NAA may have, but he certainly could have been involved as well.  A complete run of his little magazine is "not common."  That might be an understatement.
