Back tensioning (and other things) revisited - and a big thanks to Moebow!

I've been laying low for a while after hastily crowing about a few things in earlier posts only to discover later that I was all wet, but now things are finally coming together for me in a big way because of some fine advice I've received here, and because, most notably, of a couple of Moebow's instructional videos.

I had earlier misapplied some stuff I had seen here and it  seemed to work initially, primarily regarding back tension,  but I was doing it wrong and almost completely ruined my shoulder in the process, damaging to the point that I was thinking I may never shoot again. During a long layoff from shooting I watched some of Moebow's videos, and applying some his techniques solved the  major problems I was having, primarily back tensioning and release problems (which was actually a form problem). The big things I changed as a result of these two videos are really all connected: a PROPER GRIP on the string (in the crease of the first joints instead of on the finger pads) allows for a RELAXED WRIST, ARM, AND SHOULDER which in turn allows for a HIGH DRAW using back muscles instead of arm/shoulder muscles. The Rotational Draw made the most difference and I have developed my own version. It doesn't look exactly like Moebow's but it's the same principle and it surely works for me. That, coupled with some good information from his Release Tips video has completely solved a problem I posted about earlier here about occasional arrows porpoising wildly downrange before nosediving into the ground.

The results have now been consistently positive for a proven period of time. This 58-year-old guy can now shoot his 50 pound bow all day long (taking rest breaks) with no shoulder or arm discomfort at all, and those wildly flying arrows seem to be a thing of the past. If I miss badly now it's just because I got sloppy.

So thanks y'all!

(I was going to provide links to Moebow's ROTATIONAL DRAW and RELEASE TIPS videos but Youtube's acting ugly right now).

LLP,

Very glad the technique is working for you!  It is not really my "technique" though, it is the National Training System (NTS) technique as taught by USA Archery and their coaches.  I have modified it a little to fit better with the more traditional/hunting style we use as compared to a "full up" Olympic style archer.

Ya, YouTube has been "flaky" for a while, but my videos can be accessed by just going to YouTube and doing a search for "TheMoebow1"

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

Whatever the source, thanks for presenting it the way you did, it sure made the difference.
The problem with Youtube was in copying and pasting the link. Even though your video was up, when I copied the link for and pasted it elsewhere it just pasted the link to the Youtube homepage. The same thing has been happening with other videos as well.
