Arrow over nock okay?

I am still trying to get my first recurve tuned in exactley perfect.  In playing around I placed an arrow on top of my tied in nock and this seems to be the corect height.  So after shooting for a while it works so is this a problem or can I continue to shoot with the arrow on top instead of below.  I shoot slit finger with glove.

Why not tie in another nocking point above the arrow?  I started using two nocking points a couple years ago and feel it has improved consistency.  The arrow will not slide up or down the string upon release that way.  Another thread has slow motion video of the arrow moving 1/4 inch or more upon release with one nocking point. May be less of a problem with split than 3 under but why take the chance.

When I was a teenager we always put the arrow above the nocking point. This was the way archers like Howard Hill set their bows up.

Most often when the gets shot in the arrow won't slide up unless it is really loose or there is extreme pressure under it when shooting split finger.  For some, including myself, it is easier to get an arrow on the string with nocking point under the arrow.

So who else shoots with the arrow over the nock point.  Any other problems to be aware of?

Brian I have a few bows that I get better arrow flight when I nock above the nock. I tried putting a nock above but it wasn't the same so I just use those bows and shoot over the nock. I do put a small piece of masking tape on the string to prevent the arrow from sliding. I figure if it was good enough for Howard Hill its good enough for me......stabow

I shoot with it abouve and am fine at 20yrds very consitent, I put my 3 fingers under and have no contact with arrow I have never had it cause problems , my nocks do not fit the string to tight either, so...
