Learing to Gap shoot

I've been trying to shoot instinctively but am having problems with those "wild shots". My friend that got me started has had the same problem with consistency and maybe this gap shooting would help. Does anyone split finger release while gap shooting?

I just took the Bob Wesley Class on split vision (gap shooting) both Bob and I shoot split finger (he much better then me) so there is no preference as to how you grip the string in gap.  You have a smaller gap if you shoot 3 under, but it is still a gap.
